Gander Mountain is a chain of stores which specializes in the sale of outdoor sporting goods, primarily hunting and fishing. Gander Mountain also sells camping gear. In many stores, a gunsmith is on site, or makes regular visits to the store. Gander Mountain stores also sell hunting and fishing licenses.
In larger stores, Gander Mountain offers a wide array of sportswear for men, women, and children, as well as camouflage and blaze orange fieldwear. Larger stores also sell kayaks and canoes, ATVs, and even boats.
The Gander Mountain slogans: "We Live Outdoors" and simply "Hunt. Fish. Camp."
In 1996, rival outdoor store Cabela's bought the Gander Mountain catalog business, reducing Gander Mountain to a retail store only business.
